Viewport shortcuts

When working in Unreal Engine, the editor interface can sometimes take up more space than you need. If you want a cleaner view of your level, you can quickly hide parts of the viewport UI or enter fullscreen modes using a few simple shortcuts. Watch the video tutorial to learn more, or continue reading this article.

Hide the viewport toolbar

To hide or show the toolbar in the active viewport, press Ctrl + Shift + T. This toggles the viewport toolbar, giving you a cleaner view while still keeping the rest of the editor available.

Enter immersive viewport mode

Click inside the viewport to make sure it is focused, then press F11. This toggles immersive mode, which expands the viewport to fill the screen.

Press F11 again to return the viewport to its normal layout.

Fullscreen the editor window

To fullscreen the main Unreal Engine editor window, press Shift + F11. This gives the editor more screen space by removing the operating system window border and filling the display.

Use the shortcuts together

You can combine these shortcuts for an even cleaner workspace. For example, hide the viewport toolbar with Ctrl + Shift + T, enter immersive mode with F11, and use Shift + F11 if you want the whole editor window to fill the screen.

We use these shortcuts when recording tutorials, taking screenshots, or simply focusing on the scene without extra UI elements in the way.
