The best feature of Unreal Engine

One of my favourite things about working in Unreal Engine is how quickly you can experiment with ideas. A perfect example is being able to change Blueprint values while the game is running and see the result almost immediately.

It sounds like a fairly small feature, but I genuinely think it is one of the best quality-of-life features in Unreal Engine. A lot of game development comes down to tiny adjustments. Maybe a character moves slightly too fast, an ability takes too long to recharge, an enemy does a little too much damage, or a delay just does not feel right.

Normally, testing those changes would mean stopping the game, changing the value, starting the game again, getting back to the same situation, and then deciding whether the new value is any better. When you are making dozens of small adjustments, that gets old very quickly.

With Unreal Engine, you can often skip most of that, and that is awesome!
