Frequently Asked Questions
Does these material functions work with UI?
Yes. The blend modes can be used for all types of materials.
How does this product differ from the default Blend operations already included in Unreal Engine?
This product predates Epic's similar nodes, and there are some subtle but meaningful differences in how they are implemented in practice.
The nodes in our collection are designed to stay closer to how these functions behave in Adobe software and to what many artists would consider the industry standard. Epic's set is missing several useful nodes that are included in our pack.
In addition, this pack includes a master node that combines all of the functions into a single node, which makes iteration much faster.
Because the collection is built using the standard material workflow, you can also open it up and see exactly how everything works. That makes it far easier to inspect and debug than digging through the C++ or HLSL behind Epic's nodes.
